FAMILY NEWS... Celebrating 13 Years Serving Central Oregon Communities
Entering its 13th year of operation, Central Oregon Family News would like to reflect on its past and give a glimpse of the future to the communities that it has served for a decade.
The Central Oregon Family News was founded by Jayel and Dana Hayden and published its first issue in April 1997. Then, the paper was 8 pages and yet full of events, articles and resources that promoted healthy kids, families and communities. The Hayden's mission was to strengthen families by encouraging active parental involvement and increase community awareness of Central Oregon family resources.
Anna and Doug Van Gordon purchased Central Oregon Family News in 2003. Through community involvement, fundraising and supporting the many organizations throughout the area, the paper has reached new heights, growing to an average of 24 pages. The Van Gordon's goal stayed in line with the founders of the paper; to bring the experts together to help educate families on how to rais healthy, happy children. They also want to help families find activities that they can do together; the kind of things from which kids not only learn from, but will remember as they grow.
The Central Oregon Family News strives to give the region quality information and resources to help Central OreGROWn Families Build Stronger Communities© and raise healthy, happy families.
